We already posted about Brian Fabbro aka Byran in April but he has moved on to bigger things since then; Key Element Recordings – his own label. Here is what Brian had to say about Key Element:

I started a label when I realized I couldn’t find a “real” trance label in Montreal. So, I decided to start one myself and build it up with the help of new artists who would be ready to work with me. I am currently waiting for beatport to answer back concerning my entry in their website. There shouldn’t be any problems since I am a registered company  I pay taxes! :p).

So, back to Key Element. The goal is really to track down the best in trance in a wide range (techno, tech house, proghouse and all other forms of trance itself) and I’m thinking of even including a hardstyle section.

A few days ago Brian played a set at “Passport” here in Montreal, he selected the best tracks from that set and recorded an exclusive guestmix for WePlayTechno and surprised all of us with the variety of styles used; proghouse, electro, trance… He did mention he doesn’t like to label himself as a “Trance DJ” or “House DJ” – because when you do so you remove a lot of freedom from yourself and people only see you as an artist in one single precise style.
