Top 100 DJ MAG 2011 Predictions

As I am writing this post (4am EST), only 16 hours are left to vote for the world’s top DJs… (You can still VOTE RIGHT HERE)
I voted in July when I wrote the 2011 Top DJs Voting Begins blog post. I voted Markus Schulz #1 although I am pretty sure he won’t even make it to the top 3… anyhow, here is MY prediction for this year’s results:
1. Armin Van Buuren – because of “Mirage” and the growing popularity of A State of Trance.
2. David Guetta – although I don’t even think he should be on the list of DJs, young clubber kids seem to love him. Sad but true.
3. Tiesto – yet another DJ who became more of a drama queen and less of a good DJ, honestly I wouldn’t want to see him in the top 10 but a lot of people still think of him as god…
… these are the top 3. Then I predict Above & Beyond, Dash Berlin, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Deadmau5, in no particular order… really not sure which of these will be in top 5 but I am sure they will all be in the top 10. I disagree concerning Tiesto. Beautiful World was a bomb in my opinion, just like Girls With Bangs and Don’t Ditch. And those are just the ones I’m thinking of quick. I agree with your comment about Guetta. I don,t know why people always vote Armin as no1, I prefer by far A&B for their tracks and live sets.
Interesting take on things
Concerning Tiesto… it’s not only his music that I think is no longer of quality, it’s also the way he behaves… I am sure you have heard of Tiesto’s drama at 2011 Bal en Blanc… total loss of respect for this guy.
And I think Armin gets a lot of votes because he’s got some of the biggest EDM events around the world, If I am not mistaken his ASOT radio show gets over 4,000,000 listeners every single time and in general, he is very present, active and supporting in the EDM scene… that’s all + points.
Anyhow, what are you predictions for the TOP 10 (5) ?
I am kind of hoping that DJ Ghetto will not make it to the top 10 (but he probably will).
I am predicting AvB and Tiesto in the top 5, not sure about the rest…
I predict, like you, Armin 1, Guetta 2, tiesto 3, A&B 4 (the new album has excellent critics everywhere), Deadmau5 at 5 (his tracks lost a little punch this year, and Emery, Schulz, Corsten, Axwell (every year he isn’t rated enough in my opinion) in the top 10. Also Arty maybe? Most trance artist named him *producer to keep an eye on* (or something like that :p)
Oh yeah! concerning tiesto, even though he did act like shit @ bal en blanc, i’m sure a lot of other djs act the same way sometimes without us noticing. i’m sure we don’t always know what goes on backstage (maybe you more than I though…). And concerning Armin, 4 000 000! That’s something i didn’t know!
Oh yes, Emery – probably will be making the top 10
